Achievable goal : need advice

Hello everyone! I am a 25 y/o Male who is trying to gain weight. I am 5’11” (180cm) and currently 130 lbs (59 kg).

Since high school I have had a difficult time putting weight on. Activity level, eating habits, workout routine, etc have all played a part in this.

I currently work a very physically (and mentally) demanding job on the ambulance. I am concerned about potential injury of myself or my patients if I continue down the path I am on. And therefore want to make a physical change in myself to become stronger to better meet the needs of my job and those who need me.

My fitness history includes mostly cardio with only a bit of weightlifting. I played soccer and baseball all the way into college and with an emphasis on the former it was important for me to remain lean and fast and work on my cardio endurance.

This has been my approach to my fitness since college and has gotten me absolutely nowhere in regard to my new goal (as I’m sure you can imagine).

I am attempting to make a change and have set myself some new goals. Firstly, to get into a routine I can actually get results from. And secondly to get myself up to at least 145 lbs. I have no particular time limit yet as I am honestly not sure what it takes to put on 15 pounds. But starting from where I am, I am seeking any and all advice on the path forward.

Thank you all in advance

EDIT : most of the advice was “read the wiki, eat more”. However, thanks for the detailed advice some of you gave considering my situation with my job, and the time restriction that puts on me. Details what what I was looking for and I appreciate those of you who dove a little deeper for me.
