I've just started training and my coach has given me a program where each week the weight goes up slightly and my reps go from 3 before failure, to 2 and 1 before failure. My problem is i dont know how to measure this.
Using bench press as an example as you do more reps it gets harder but how do i know how many reps off of failure i am? I trained a little alone and somtimes i would have to grind out the last 5 and other times i would be fine one rep and fail the next.
Is there a secret or signs that tell me when im kinda close to fail and when the next rep would be failure? I was told not to even try going to failure to work it out and then doing less reps the next session.
