For context, I’m 24, male, 6’2 and weigh around 205/210lb. Despite me looking athletic and in good shape, I’m very unfit.
I used to go to the gym a couple of years ago quite regularly and got into really good shape. I never did cardio, but lifted weights and my body looked the best it has ever looked.
I decided to go for a run yesterday as I noticed I’ve been getting out of breathe just walking short distances. It went much worse than expected.
I ran for just over a mile at a good pace, then had to stop running and start walking. I was struggling to breathe and it hurt to inhale. I managed to run for another mile back home, stopping and starting.
When I got home I was coughing, and I was finding it difficult to breathe as my chest felt very tight. When I did breathe, my lungs hurt. This morning I’ve woke up and the difficulty breathing has gone away, but I can feel slight pain when I deeply inhale.
Any ideas? I’ve never had this when I lifted weights, but I honestly can’t remember a time in my life where I have ran. So maybe it’s always been there and I haven’t found out until yesterday?
