Are there exercises that cause the least amount of injuries, or exercises that you can do in old age?

I hope this makes sense, but I want to do exercises that won't be hard on my body or exercises that anyone can do when they're old.

I can think of 3 exercises right now: swimming, walking, and rowing.

The reason I ask is because I'm getting tired of taking a break from working out because of injuries. For example, in the past, I had to take a break from running and lifting because I would get injured all the time. Stuff like shin splints or hip injuries would halt all the hard work I would put in the gym or the track, and now I want to do something that will allow me to do for long periods of time without any problems.
