Readjusting training max going forward?

So I invested in a homegym, with a barbell and plates that I bought off of a guy on the Facebook marketplace. However, I’ve noticed that on squats everything seems to feel heavier.

I thought maybe I overestimated my training max , as the past few weeks what are supposed to be sets of 5 @80%, feel like RPE 10 sets, however I DO NOT-have this same feeling on bench, it feels the same as it does when I benched in a commercial gym.

Today I tested out my theory that “squatting in the homegym is harder for some reason” by doing a single at RPE 8 (92.5%) and 1x5 at 80%. Both moved like garbage and were literally complete grinders like RPE 10.

I then drove to a commercial gym, and repeated the same thing, a single at RPE 8 and 1x5 @80% and it was remarkably easier. The single was fine, and the set of 5 was very easy.

Should I lower my training max on squats while in the home gym, and what do you think is the cause of the lowered max? (Imo it’s something to do with bar whip which admittedly I know very little about, and not enviorment)

Sorry if I’m over analyzing the fuck out of this, I just want to be efficient with training lol.
