Skinny with a gut, bulk or cut? Could really use guidance on where to start. (pics inside)

I finally climbed out of depression and am seriously starting my fitness journey. I'm in a weird situation though, since I am now skinny with a gut. My ultimate goal is to build muscle/get bigger, and I understand from the wiki that I need a caloric surplus to achieve this. However I also want to lose the fat I've picked up, and I know that I need a caloric deficit for this. Would you recommend I start with a bulk (caloric surplus) or a cut (caloric deficit) first?

I was thinking to cut first, as I thought it might be easier and could also help me to build better dietary habits. I'm not sure if this is rational - but I am afraid of possibly missing out on my "noobie gains", and losing the muscle I build if I do this. Any guidance or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Current routine plan: 5/3/1 for Beginners

Current diet plan: (Calculated and tracked by MyFitnessPal app) --- 1510 calories and 150g of protein per day
