Splitting Weight Program into morning and Evening

I was curious if anyone had any thoughts on effectiveness of splitting a workout routine in half and doing half in the morning and half in the evening.

I find it much easier to get to the gym for two 30-40 min sessions in a day than one longer one. Whether its 5x5, SS, GZCLP etc is there any downside to doing some of the weights in the morning and then the rest in the evening?
