Variation vs. Progressive Overload

I am currently running an ABAB program which works for me quite well.

I hit chest/triceps/biceps twice a week on the A day and back/legs/shoulders twice a week on B day.

Is it better to keep the exercise the same on both A days? (for example, only do bench press & flyes for chest) or do different exercises each time? (for example, add incline bench press on the second chest day each week).

The second option means I will do each exercise once a week, rather than twice a week.

Any input would be much appreciated, thanks!
