AthleanX?

So I recently bumped into his YT channel again cause I like to watch some fitness youtubers while I eat etc. And many of them recently adapted these non-bulking strategies where they essentially just maintenance all the time in the belief that it will build less muscle but also no fat. So in the comment sections of course these AthleanX fanboys are like "Jeff been saying this since 7 years ago".

So now my question is how well does AthleanX actually know his shit?

I used to watch his channel like 2-3 years ago. Here's the thing. The guy that Jeff trains on his channel? I suppose I started working out around the same time as him. But I'm literally double his size at this point. I've been going with traditional bulking(300-600kcal+) and cutting, while the dude on the show has not. I assume there's genetics involved, but I honestly believe that skinny dude would have put on way more size by now if he actually ate. I just find it hard to trust his whole maintenance thing because of this "experiment" they're doing here. It's obviously not working for the dude on the channel.

Any thoughts on AthleanX? The guy himself looks ripped (I wouldn't say he looks good tho, but ripped), but fuck knows how long he's been training. And he seems like he knows a lot about the anatomy of our body and injuries etc. But then the guy he is training barely looks like he gyms and it's been 4-5 years or so.

Edit: Talking about the scenario of intermediate-advanced lifting, not when you're new
