Has any experienced lifters completely give up on all other exercises to focus on only 1 lift? For example, only squats or deadlifts?

How long did you lift before just focusing on 1 lift?

How long did you focus on only 1 lift?

What were the results?

Would you do it again, if you stopped?


Both my squat and deadlift have completely plateaued at 400/440 1RM each. I have successfully increased my rep/sets at lower weights, but after every program that I have done, I haven't been able to increase my 1RM. Also, I have become better at lifting at my 1RM, but can't lift beyond 440/400 lbs. So I was wondering if it would be beneficial to just go to the gym everyday for a few months and only focus on 1 of my plateaued exercises.
