I've been doing 5x5's for the last month or so (worked up to a relatively light weight of about 40kg), and 2 days after one of my workouts I woke up to find my right leg was hurting when trying to get up from a sitting position to walking. Within a few days the pain developed from a sore throb in my right hamstring into a dull throbbing pain in my right hip, psoas major, piriformis, and when walking my outer knee and sometimes my ring/pinky toes all on my right leg. I've tried stretching, yoga, hot/cold compressions, and pain meds. I've seen a neurology doctor who ran some X-rays and didn't see any pinched nerves and has put me on pain meds to no effect and a local physical therapist is having me do stretches which helps very little.
It's 2 weeks in and waking up in the morning is nearly bringing me to tears with standing up and walking (initially very slowly and hunched over, but mobility improves with additional walking). When sitting or laying down the pain returns when I try to get up and move again, or when lying/sitting down for extended periods. I haven't tried any workout routine since my injury and have an appointment scheduled to do a nerve study on my leg. I may also schedule an appointment with an orthopedic doctor to see if they have any suggestions. I don't know if any of this is down to the exercises I was doing but considering how amazing this community is, I'm hoping someone out there has an idea of what may be going on and could point me in the right direction.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope everyone and their family stays safe in these trying times.
