So bascially, I am a 19 year old guy who is lifting weights for 3 to 4 years. I was very overweight in my childhood and lost the weight trough eating good and weightlifting. Now my issue is, I have never done any sport in my life that would engage my heart and cardiovascular system. I am normal weight and I have some muscle mass on me but I am as bad as any other couch potato when It comes to anything that is hard like running, swimming, even sex. Now I searched a lot here on reddit and in the internet for guides how to build general Cardio but I only find advice for specific things like running a certain amount of miles. I am not interested in becoming a runner or anything else, I just want to have a healthy heart and dont want to embarrass my self on the beach when I look like I am fit and than can't swim for 5 minutes without getting my heart to 200bpm.
I want to learn how the cardio vascular system functions and how I train it the best way, which programs I should follow (I thought about running as a way of improving my heart) like I did with bodybuilding. Can anyone explain It for someone who has a ZEROOO knowledge?
