I was jogging regularly doing around 20km per week last year but then did literally nothing from November until March.
The lockdown situation has inspired me to get back on it. I'm about 10kg overweight and I'm training for a marathon now, So now I've suddenly gone from zero to 1 hour of jogging / walking every morning plus 1 - 1.5 hours every evening. This is aroun 1200 -1500 calories per day for me.
I feel really good from it but obviously my legs are tired at all times. I'm seeing my heart rate drop right down (both resting down to 58) and during exercise. I've been maintaining this for about a month and have only dropped 1.5kg but I suspect that may be fat turning to muscle?
Is this a stupid way to train and drop the weight? I'm reading all sorts of conflicting information on this.
I'm 38/m and 188cm if that makes any difference.
