Workout Routine Help

Hi, I recently started working out again after months of not doing so. In the past I’ve done mostly cardio (stairmaster, treadmill) because I never knew what to do for strength training.

My question is what would you recommend for me to take on if I want too lose body fat and gain muscle? I’ve only been walking/running five times a week for about an hour. Should I incorporate HIIT and at home strength training, instead of running? Do I have to lose weight first by doing cardio and then strength train? I’m 155lbs and 5’7 for reference.
