Deadlift mats or "deadner"

My current gym doesn't have any soft flooring for deadlifting so I've been having to lower the metal weights all the way down gently as possible. There are no rules about noise, but I'm more worried about damaging the floor which is already damaged and warped enough.

My old gym had a pair ofDeadlift Deadners, which I particularly enjoyed and worked well enough. The problems are that the price( $130) is a little steep and some of the reviews say it throws off form. I've never noticed if I had bad form with it, but I haven't been lifting too long. So would the deadners be good or would flat mats be the way to go? If mats, any recommendations for deadlifts on a hard floor with metal weights?
