Hello all.
I am a 27-year-old male, 168 cm tall, I weight 76 kg and I am around 13% to 14% body fat. I currently workout 6 days a week, 4 of those days I do 2 workouts. I follow a 3-day PPL routine with 1 strength and conditioning workout between each session and 4 of those days I practice Brazilian Jiu jitsu. I keep a balanced diet and I am currently pleased with the way I am progressing strength wise and Brazilian Jiu jitsu wise.
However, I currently took a new job which is a great opportunity for me but makes me travel 50% of my time spending a full week on the same place , so not moving around the whole time and with the possibility of always spending weekends home.
I am trying to think on how to maintain and try to progress my strength training and keeping my nutrition on good levels during the time I am travelling. I know jiu jitsu will suffer a lot since I will not be able to attend the same number of classes, I will try to always find a place to visit on every city and train there once or twice and train home at the weekends. Regarding my strength training I was thinking in doing Deadlifts and bench press on Saturday , Squats and OHP on Sundays and then body weight workouts in the hotels or parks if I find one during the week. My nutrition is what I am scared about since I won’t have the possibility to meal prep, I was thinking in maybe trying something like Huel to control my calorie intake better and stick with salads when I eat out.
So, what I would like some opinions on is:
Is my plan to use Huel a good idea, or should I just travel with protein? How have people here who are or used to be in the same situation do?
Is my plan to use the gym for big lifts on the weekend and do body weight on the week a good idea? If so, anyone has any recommendations on good body weight routines ( even if they are not free) that I could potentially explore ? Please bear in mind that I may not have access to a pull up bar but will travel with my suspension trainer.
Thank you all for the help.
Regards,
Blione.
